The Goldsmiths Prize Winner

Convention-defying novelists Eimear McBride, Ali Smith, Kevin Barry, Nicola Barker and Lucy Ellman have all won the Goldsmiths Prize and graced Cambridge audiences with their brilliance. This year, we look forward to welcoming the latest winner of this exhilarating prize, which rewards ‘fiction at its most novel’. The shortlist is brimming with experimental fiction: Mr. Beethoven by Paul Griffiths, A Lover’s Discourse by Xiaolu Guo, The Sunken Land Begins to Rise Again by M. John Harrison, Meanwhile in Dopamine City by DBC Pierre, The Mermaid of Black Conch by Monique Roffey, and Bina by Anakana Schofield. We can’t wait to welcome the 2020 winner (announced 13th November), who’ll be in discussion with Chris Power to talk about the art of the novel and this year’s most exciting new fiction.
