How does an experienced writer approach memoir writing? Join acclaimed writer Kathryn Heyman to find out.

How does an experienced writer approach memoir writing?

In this two-hour interactive zoom masterclass, acclaimed writer Kathryn Heyman will help you create story from truth, and truth from story.

Once again partnering with Gold Dust Mentoring, we are delighted to be able to offer a really special opportunity to spend a Saturday morning with acclaimed Australian writer Kathryn Heyman.

Alongside her own work, Kathryn mentors new and emerging writers with Gold Dust and is the director of the Australian Writers Mentoring Program.

Kathryn will explain how she created her acclaimed new memoir, Fury, from conception through to drafting, structuring and editing. She’ll talk through the use of novelistic approaches that have made readers love Fury as well as some decisions and challenges that writers of memoir must face. By the end of the masterclass, you’ll have a clear idea about what you need to do to write your memoir, and a toolbox of approaches and ideas to keep you going.

This will be a rare chance to hear a detailed account of the working methods of an acclaimed writer who has helped scores of new writers make the leap from idea to publication.

Facilitated by writer and teacher Miranda Doyle, author of A Book of Untruths.
