Jonathan Coe: Mr Wilder & Me

Event details

Christmas has come early for fiction fans with the publication of Jonathan Coe’s first novel since the best-selling Middle England.

Mr Wilder & Me is at once a tender coming-of-age story. an intimate portrait of one of cinema’s most intriguing figures when a young woman finds herself on the set of Billy Wilder’s 1978 film Fedora.

In a love letter in the spirit of cinema Jonathan Coe turns his gaze on the nature of time and fame, of family and the treacherous lure of nostalgia. When the world is catapulting towards change, do you hold on for dear life or decide it’s time to let go?
